OR Tech on-call responsibilities include 1 weeknight and 2 weekend days per month — primarily day shift with occasional night/weekend call. Non-certified candidates with documented military or on-the-job training considered. Technical experience: minimum ~6 months OR tech experience or specialized training (on-the-job or military training acceptable with documentation). Comfortable with sterile technique, instrument handling, and maintaining surgical counts.
Education • High school diploma or equivalent • Graduate of OR technician program (ARC/STSA accreditation) preferred but on-the-job or military training accepted
Knowledge & Skills • Sterile technique and opening/setting up sterile supplies • Patient positioning and safe transport • Instrument handling, decontamination, and point-of-use cleaning • Performing and documenting surgical counts • Efficient room turnover and supply management • Passing instruments and assisting the surgical team during procedures • Specimen handling and basic wound dressing application
